SERVPRO of Merrimack Teams Up With Operation Delta Dog!

When it comes to helping, here at SERVPRO, we like to believe we are experts. Our team is like a family, and we want to help our communities as much as we can. Chris St.Onge, our General Manager, is overjoyed to be at the forefront of one of our latest community projects. Today, our Green Fleet is being used for something a bit different!

Being involved in our community means a lot to Chris and the team, so we have partnered with Operation Delta Dog, to help those who often need the support of our community most. Dogs are known to be man's best friend, but did you know they can also be amazing support animals on both a physical and mental level for our veterans? Operation Delta Dog is all about rescuing dogs, training them to be service animals, and then rehoming them with veterans. SERVPRO is honored to be a part of such a great mission.

Chris stands in front of one of our SERVPRO-green trucks, and inside is a fork-lifted flat of dog food. This food can feed Operation Delta Dog's service animals for "almost six months," according to Charlotte Troddyn, Executive Director of the organization of volunteers. We are proud to offer the food to the dogs that can help our veterans adjust to civilian life, as well as some essential disinfectant wipes to help keep Operation Delta Dog clean.

According to Troddyn, our reputation in the community is "second to none" and we want to keep it that way. From helping our veterans to cleaning up a sewage backup, we want our community to know we have their back. When out and about, you may notice an Operation Delta Dog by the blue vest they wear, with their signature dog-tag logo. We look forward to our next project with these awesome dogs!

The training to prepare these special pups for their veteran adopters is significant. It can take as long as a year and is quite expensive, costing about $25,000.  It is a non-profit organization, funded entirely by donations. The more donations they receive the more homeless dogs they can rescue and place with a deserving veteran. It you are willing to help make a difference and donate to this awesome cause, go to the donate page of the Operation Delta Dog website.
